Will: He's less puffy, responding well to the diuretic they have him on. He's also come down quite a bit on his CPAP pressure settings, so that's a great step in the direction of moving to the high-flow nasal cannula! I can hardly wait to see his face when it's not been contorted and swollen by the CPAP mask and straps. He hates his mask (right, Aunt Fay?), so he'll be happier, too! He's receiving breathing treatments (albuterol) to help him - see below.
Will during a breathing treatment after I held him. He's sleepy but happy! 4 lbs 1.7 oz |
David continues to do well receiving small feeds after his week of fighting off necrotizing enterocolitis, praise God. He is on the same CPAP settings as Will, which is good! We pray he, too, can move this week to the nasal cannula. Please also pray he can get back up to full tummy feedings rather than IV nutrition, that his intestinal tract will handle the milk well.
David getting bigger! 3 lb 8 oz |
Marcie also continues to do well and has halved the rate of her SiPap (like CPAP but with regular additional pressure to help her remember to breathe) from 20 to 10 reminder "breaths" per minute. We pray she, too, can move to the nasal cannula this week, Lord willing!
Daddy and Marcie, who weighs 3 lb 3 oz. Sorry the picture doesn't show her well. |
Thank you so much for taking precious time to upload these photos of these 5 little miracles. They have grown so much and it is amazing to watch God at work.
