This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

Big brother!

Quick prayer requests:

Gracie really needs to gain weight still, although she's gained a tiny bit. She's not even on the charts! I got to hold her for almost 3 hours; so precious.

Seth is not doing well. A pulmonologist should be coming from Children's Medical Center early next week to check him out; please pray for wisdom. Also, they are testing him for a rare disease characterized by failure to be able to make the necessary lung fluid, "surfactant." We pray that's negative, of course, and we ask the Lord to please heal Seth and meet all his little needs in the meantime.

The other three babies are thriving, praise God. Here are some pictures to prove it! :)

He kept saying to both Will and David, "Hi, little guy!"
This is David, the baby he named.

With Will. Isaac says it felt amazing to hold them.

"Please, no papparazzi" (David) Thanks for the hat, Sarah! SO soft; the nurses loved them.

Two little boy heads over a darling little boy blanket (thanks to Shauna again!)
I'm almost completely better - thanks for praying!

Awww, they're touching! Bald David and Hairy Will. Everyone says David looks like Gavin. Wonder why . . .

  3. So good to hear from you and glad that you, Carrie, are feeling better. I loved the pictures, especially the one with Isaac. Great news that three of the precicous ones are doing well. Now if we could just get the others in a better state. Prayers continue to go up for that to happen.

    Have a blessed Sunday,

  5. So good to see an update - was really praying hard that no news was good news.
Lord, adding my prayers again to all of the others and asking for Your healing hand to touch all these sweet babies and bring the individual healing each is in need of. Especially lifting Seth and Gracie before You - please bring healing to Seth's little lungs and weight gain for Gracie - they are great gifts from You, Father, and we know Your Will is perfect and ask only that Your Will be done. Thank you for Carrie's healing. Praise and glory and honor belong to You, Father. Amen. NKL

  6. So happy to hear Carrie is feeling better....stress really lowers our immune systems ability to fight off junk! Prayers continue for all the babies with a few extra for Seth. I pray the new Doctor's are lead to the answers for Seth's problems and that he begins to thrive. Praying that Gracie starts "porking up" and gains daily! Thank you for posting the pictures...they are all just beautiful! Issac looks so happy, I can just imagine him in his "big brother" roll...times 5...he has his new job cut out for him that's for sure!

  9. Dear Carrie and Gavin! What a beautiful pictures...thank you for sharing these "captured moments" with us. How you know, English is not my mother language, but I continue to pray for all of you in my language or in Norwegian...it depends. But now it just felt as the right thing to do to read NKL´s prayers loud in English. God is so good and his Will and Plan with us is perfect. God bless you! Gabriella

    1. That is so special to think of Seth being prayed for in 3 languages by you! I agree, praying NKL's prayers out loud is also great. :) I love that we have all these prayers recorded for him, and assurances of prayer from so many people we've never even met in addition to the family of God we already know! I'm sure we'll be talking about this in Heaven with Jesus there, too, and it will be glorious. It's all for Him and by Him, nothing accidental. Praying for you, too! Love, Carrie
