This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

Shaken, but just fine!

I guess our recent earthquake (3:45 a.m. our time yesterday) has made some international news. We are fine. It was definitely the biggest one we've felt, and seemed to go on a lot longer than most - waking up and freaking out the kids, including Isaac! There was a bigger one when we were last in the USA, so we missed it (for which I am grateful). Some of Gavin's colleagues and passengers who serve with New Tribes and MAF reported lots more damage and even PNG lives lost in a landslide. Even at the epicenter, though, friends' new village houses did not fall down, thankfully! Thanks for praying for those who did lose loved ones and houses. :(

In different news, our kids all had dental checkups and did AMAZING. So brave and cute (especially in the eye-shield sunglasses)! I only have pictures of Marcie, Seth and Will (Gavin got the others with his much better camera). Will was the only quint with cavities, so he got to choose a toy for a reward in sitting so still and being such a good boy. He chose a bubble machine "gun," much to his siblings' shared delight. It doubles nicely as a fan. :)

Will and our sweet PNG dentist are good buds now!

Eyes on the prize!
