This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

  1. Congratulations on the new additions to your family. They are beautiful. Will is the same size as my grandson was when he was born. He is now almost 7 and thriving like any other child. I saw so many babies touched by God while we were in the NICU, even a couple smaller than Gracie. They are, today, healthy lively children. God is truly amazing. I will keep all of you in my prayers and God Bless you.

  2. Hi I am a mom to 25 week triplets in the Austin area. First I wanted to congratulate you on five beautiful babies! The nicu is definitely a roller coaster but sooner than you know it you'll be at home snuggling those babies in your arms! We had the PDA surgery, a level 3 brain bleed and several other preemie issues and I'm happy to say they are all now happy healthy 3 year olds that drive me crazy on a daily basis:). Please check out my blog or email me if you ever need to talk or have any questions!

  12. Thank you for posting and sharing your story. Amazing how God can take that hardship in your life and give you multiple blessings because of it. For without the ectopic, you would never have done shots and had 5 babies! I will keep you all in my prayers. Hopefully the recovery goes well. xo

  15. I just watched and listened to your press conference about the amazing birth of your five new babies! First, congratulations to all three of you...Mom, Dad and Issac. My eyes were filled with tears through most of your talk...first of all, because you are all so open and honest about how this pregnancy came about, that your initial reaction was shock, and yet, you were thrilled and so wanted these babies. In today's world, I am astounded that many people just "throw away" precious babies through "selective reduction" or worse, abortion. I thank you for having the faith, love and courage to go forward and let God take over. I am the mother of five (in eight years, not five minutes!)and their existence will always be the crown jewel of my life. You are in my thought and prayers as you travel this journey, and I wish you the best!

  16. Congrats on your miracle babies!! Prayers for continued growth and development for your babies and patience for you as you ride this NICU roller coaster. I'm mom to GBBG quadruplets born at 27 weeks 2 days nearly 5 years ago. All are healthy, happy, well-adjusted Pre-K students today and those NICU days are merely a blip in our rear view mirror...as it will be for you soon enough!

    God Bless,
    Jac

  21. I stumbled across a news article regarding your precious children today, and wanted to stop by your blog to praise God for such a beautiful gift (well, five actually!) We, too, are missionaries (in Chile, South America) and have missionary acquaintances in PNG. God bless you as you lean on Him for strength in these exciting, sleepless days. Sincerely, Stephanie Garcia

  22. LOL, Isaac said that he prayed 5 years for a sibling--- Looks like God chose to answer all at once there, didn't He? ;)
As Carrie so accurately stated, "I didn't choose this; God did." And because He did, you can be sure that He will provide, every step of the way.
Love Isaac's pure, simple faith. He is a blessing!

  23. Praying that your babies will continue to thrive. I'm a mom to 25 week micro preemies myself and know the toll the emotional rollercoaster can take on you. I pray that God will give you strength to go through this.

I have to say also, that Isaac is a beautiful boy. I'm impressed at the way he feels comfortable expressing his opinions and how his Mom listens intently to what he has to say.
