Apparently, our kids are starting to show some serious signs of allergies-- well at least we're 99.9% sure that's what they're experiencing. We were hoping that we would be able to avoid them altogether, but with five we should have known at least a few of them would have some issues.
Putting a finger on what the allergens are is a bit more of a challenge. Isaac was allergic to oranges for a while, but the babies haven't started solid food or juice yet, so that can't be it. We have had them outside a lot more, due to the beautiful weather, so maybe there's something in the air that is doing it.
The symptoms they display are sometimes fleeting and almost imperceptible, sometimes much more obvious. The funny thing is that they each have very different symptoms. We were able to catch them on camera during some of the more "blatant" episodes. Sorry for the fuzziness of some of them, but we did the best we could.

If any of you have any suggestions as to what might be causing these issues, please let us know. We are open to any suggestions, no matter how seemingly ridiculous. We're confused and, I guess, befuddled as well.

I would suggest showing Seth's picture to his pediatrician. I'm wondering if he is rolling his eyes back, and is showing some type of neurological symptom for some reason. Your family is so special!

ReplyDeleteI think just the post being from Gavin would warn of an April Fool's - got to admit you sure found the worst pictures of each of them. Looks pretty normal to me. Of course these are great prayer reminders, so maybe you should make up a special prayer card with these pics!

ReplyDeleteGavin and Carrie, Go to www.pollen.com and type in your zip~ Not sure EXACTLY where you are, but here in central Florida right now we're all gasping and coughing and sneezing ~my sister 600 mi north in Tenn is usually about 2-3 weeks later than we are with the same stuff~the culprits right now here are oak, grass, myrtle/bayberry, and cedar/juniper. We're hoping it all subsides in the next couple of weeks, like usual. When you type in your zip this site will give you a list of what's sending out allergens around you. There's an option to sign up for their "allergy alert" which will arrive each morning IF the allergen count is above 4 on a scale of 1-12. We're staying between 10 and 12 lately.

This pollen site is really quite interesting and will give you an idea of what's going on with the wee ones~ check it out! i never had allergies until about 5 yrs ago and had NO idea why my throat felt like dandelion fluff was there all the time :). God bless~ you're in my prayers.
