Gavin.
This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.
Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

We are safely Down Under
This is just a quick post to let you all know that we are safely here in Brisbane after a very good trip. There was some sleep for the kids, but not nearly as much as we hoped-- thus we got little sleep as well. Carrie and I were both having a hard time staying vertical once we got to the house where we are staying. We've all gotten a little rest, but there is a LOT of adjustment left to do. Many more details to come-- and pictures! Thank you all for your prayers and please continue!

ReplyDeleteThe toughest part is over! So glad to hear your down and that the kids did so well (prayers answered there for sure). May God continue to provide you with the rest you all need and the "adjustment phase" goes smoothly. Bless you all......enjoy having your feet on the ground!

ReplyDeleteSo glad you have this leg behind you! My prayers continue for accommodations to be more than adequate, flights to be on time and safe, and parents and children to be well and flexible. I was only out twice but I miss you dearly already. God's blessings as you continue.

DeleteSo happy the longest part is over. Hope you all were able to sleep your first night there. Prayers still coming
ReplyDeleteThanks for the quick update. I was praying often for you during that flight. I talked to our kids about an 18 hour CAR ride back when our eldest were almost 4, 2, and almost 1-- and honestly, it really didn't go that well :-). I was dreading the trip on your behalf and also praying the Lord would make it as good as possible. Glad it went pretty well.
