This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

Grace doing fine

Grace is sick, but doing fine without O2.  She coughed up some junk and is fine now.  We're probably hyper-sensitive to the oxygen saturation situation.  If we didn't have a gauge (like most people don't), we'd just think she's really sick and treat the symptoms and she'd pull through fine.  The doctor says it's quite likely that many kids who have this severe virus likely drop down quite low in their saturations during the night especially and no one knows the difference.  Seth is a different case because of his compromised lung capacity as well as junk in his lungs.  Gracie's lungs are completely clear.  I don't always know how much to share and how quickly, but I know so many are praying and concerned.  Thank you!

Gavin

  1. I will be praying that Gracie and Seth continue to improve and their lungs stay clear, also that the other kids do NOT get the "gunk" that is running rampant through the house! Prayers for you both as well, strength to keep up with the sick little ones and that you get to rest when you need it most! Prayers continue.....

  2. I'm so thankful to hear Seth is continuing to improve, and that Grace is doing ok without O2! I'm so sorry you are having to face this trial just as you arrive, but many are lifting you up to the Lord. I'll be praying that today, everyone will take big steps toward recovery! God be with you.
