[Picture taken last night when Seth felt better enough to play with a helicopter by spinning the rotors and making it take off. So cute!]
He slept well and has had good oxygenation on high-flow warmed cannula, but he sounds wheezier and more congested and acts quite a bit more miserable. He did eat a couple bites of cereal. He's just one sick baby, but stable, thank God. The nurse said he sounds like he has RSV, but we won't get the test results until late tonight. RSV season is supposed to be over, but Dallas had a late start to spring and summer. Only The Lord knows what's wrong, and as it's some sort of viral infection, only He can strengthen Seth's immune system to fight it off. We've been here before . . . forced to cast ourselves in complete helplessness and dependence on our Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. I definitely sense the peace that passes understanding from the Holy Spirit. The knowledge of our Triune sovereign, omnipotent and loving God is a tremendous comfort. Thanks to those who are praying! This photo is from the day he started with the cough, Wednesday.
Will certainly continue to pray Carrie.....he's a tough little boy....hang in there Mama!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the update. We are hoping and praying for good news tonight when his tests come back. If there is ANYTHING you need, we are just 25 minutes from that hospital.

ReplyDeleteOh, just caught up on the news! Poor Seth. Prayers for sweet Seth and for all of you!
ReplyDeleteContinual prayer...blessings for the update, bear hugs...
ReplyDeletePraying for your family! Seth reminds me of one of my little ones (we have 10 in our home, our youngest the same age as your quints, our firstborn the same age as Isaac) and we just got back from a trip to interview at a church in GA and had our 7 yr old with chronic lung disease, premature birth, g-tube, etc and other issues end up at the local ER with low O2 sats, then ambulance transported to Atlanta, put on high flow O2, then spent over a week at the children's hospital there. It all sounds so familiar... and yes, it's a scary time! We are praying for you all and have many other prayer warriors out praying as well for Seth, as they came around us in our time of need as well. James had HMPV (human metapneuma virus), which has apparently been awful this season :( We came home on O2 at night but discovered other possible ongoing issues with our son's night time breathing, so hoping that won't be the case for you.
ReplyDeleteCarrie, be strong , im sorry the vacation turned out like this. Hopefully Seth will feel better soon and will continue to oray for Seth and your family.
ReplyDeleteHEAVENLY FATHER WE STORM THE HEAVENS WITH PRAYERS, FOR OUR/YOUR " LITTLE FIGHTER" SETH". AS YOU HOLD HIM IN THE PALM OR YOUR HANDS, HEAL HIS BODY FROM THIS ILLNESS, AND WE PRAY TOO FATHER FOR CARRIE AND GAVIN AND ALL THE FAMILY...SURROUND THEM WITH YOUR LOVE AND PEACE.
