This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

Two other prayer requests

This one is a prayer and a praise: Opalyn ("Ofa"), the other mom of quints who has become a dear friend these past few weeks, made it to 28 weeks pregnant today (Tuesday)!! That's an amazing milestone and so critical for her babies' well-being. The doctors didn't think she'd make it past 26 weeks because she's really tiny. Please keep praying those three girls and two boys stay in even longer, Lord willing, and for Ofa's strength and comfort and protection as this is very hard on her body.

At 27 weeks and 2 days.

The other request is for my sister and for us. She is three months pregnant but still really, really sick. Her prayer and mine is that she would start feeling significantly better so we can enjoy our final 6 days together in Dallas before we leave for PNG for four years! Right now it's all she can do to get through the essentials of each day (with a lot of vomiting besides). Thanks for praying!

Katie in happier, healthier times, with David and Seth

Love and gratitude,
Carrie

  1. Your sister should try methyl folate. it is a specific type of folate. I was horribly sick with all my pregnancies but the last one but if I used regular folic acid supplements I would be extremely sick. You can get it at Sprouts or the vitamin shop you just have to read the label to see which type of folic acid it is. It is a cheap solution and worth a shot to see if it works for her as well. I don't want to publish my name, but was in your Sunday school class at Faith years ago.
