This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

Last hurdle cleared!

The title is a bit tongue in cheek, since I'm sure there are other hurdles to clear that we haven't thought of or just don't know about.  The trip to PNG will be a hurdle in a class of its own.

But yes, a couple days ago, we received our passports in the mail with their fresh new visas for Papua New Guinea!  In reference to paperwork and bureaucratic hurdles, that was the last of many.  We are cleared and ready to go!  We wondered if things might get a bit tight towards the end, but we had more than a month to spare when we received them.

Now just to figure out all the packing . . . and other, smaller details.  Thank you all for praying!

Our newly stamped passports lined up and waiting for the big day:  One month from today!

    1. It's mine, the one passport that didn't need to be renewed, so it still has the old label. We are the ones who put all the labels on. :) - Carrie

  5. Awesome! We moved our family to the UK in 2006, and I remember the relief when all our little passports/visas were in a row like that! It represents a LOT of work.
