This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

Seth really sick again :(

The kids all started with a mild cold again, but in Seth it VERY quickly overwhelmed his little lungs, causing his oxygen saturations to plummet back into the mid-80%'s - and this after satting 97-99% on average the past few days. He was the most lethargic I've ever seen just an hour ago; it was freaky. I had already put a call into the pulmonologist early this morning and was waiting for a call back because Seth had a fever (101) and was starting to sat lower than normal, but he was still in the okay range. That went south really fast; when he woke up from his nap I put in an emergency call and got an immediate response.  When we'd seen the pulmonologist on Tuesday he was worried this might happen despite how great Seth was doing that day, because I told him the others were fighting yet another cold. So now my dad is picking up steroids and antibiotics, Seth is on a liter of oxygen and if he needs any increase at all we're supposed to take him to the ER. His temp is higher now - 102. We just took it again.

Thanks for praying, we'll keep you posted.

Love,
Carrie

At 8:30 this morning, when he was fever-free and satting 93%

-

At 11:30 when he had a fever and was satting 85% before oxygen. The scary thing was that he didn't care or move at all when we put the oxygen cannula on him. Normally he really fights it, even last time when we ended up in the hospital!

  4. I laid my hand on his picture and prayed that "my" special guy who has that wonderful smile, would be healed by the Great Physician from fever and his lungs totally clear and healed.

I was a preemie and had pneumonia monthly five months until I was 3 when they planned to remove my one non functioning lung. God in His Grace & Mercy, inflated my lung and heal it. He is the same God that is over Seth, and nothing is impossible for God! Praying!
