This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.

Round two

These videos were taken right after church, so David was exhausted, as you can no doubt tell. The video I posted last night/early this morning was taken right after bath time, hence the mostly naked babies.

Gavin continues to enjoy his time in Papua New Guinea and work hard at getting stuff moved over from our old house to our new. I think they moved the bigger stuff, like furniture, today. He's grateful for friends to help.

We are doing fine here at home, better than fine actually. I am so grateful for extra help, especially when the babies get clingy two or three at a time. Sometimes it's hard to move through the house, my legs are so tangled up by the little limpets and my arms are so full of the ones who most seem to need holding, but that's a sublimely wonderful "problem" to have. (Easier remembered when I am sitting down blogging at the end of the day than when I am in the middle of trying to accomplish some essential task, like getting food or bottles for them!)

    I've been an avid reader of your blog since I found out about your story right after the babies were born. I read every post and pray for your family as you navigate through this adventerous life! I was just curious when you plan to move back to Papua New Guinea and if you will still be blogging when you get there? Also, will you have help with the babies there like you have had here?

      Hi Korri! We hope to go to PNG in July, but that depends on our leadership's okay and Seth's health. We will not be able to have the help there we have here because the community of missionaries is maxed out with all their responsibilities and just the stresses of everyday life in a remote country with a very different culture from ours. However, we will certainly be able to afford house help and perhaps a cook. Houses and clothes get so dirty there due to the dirt roads, there are no dishwashers, and the laundry has to be hung out to dry, so just day-to-day tasks take a ton of time. In some ways it reminds me of rural 1950s America.
