This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

Interesting news interview . . .

Sorry ladies, this one isn't about babies.  I think you will still find it very interesting even so.

I (Gavin) just came across a Fox News interview with John Nystrom, one of our friends and translators in Papua New Guinea.  It is an interesting discussion about the tsunami that destroyed a whole village of the Arop language group and killed 1/3 of the population.  You will get a good idea of some of the work that our organization is involved in there in PNG as well as around the world-- not just in Bible translation and spiritual needs, but also in meeting the physical needs of the people and more.

Here is the link to their book, Sleeping Coconuts.

Ben and Mandy Pehrson, co-workers of the Nystroms with the Arop people are also good friends of ours.  They have made their last few trips into the village in our helicopter and blogged about it on their fascinating blog, Living Letters.

  1. Wow, the "logistics" of all of that was amazing! It sounds like you all have quite a crew there doing the Lord's work in so many ways! Bless them all and you!
