This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

The latest and not-so-greatest

Seth has lower right abdominal pain (is very resistant to any pressure and cries on examination) so they are going to run a virus panel, a tummy panel, and perhaps a whooping cough test looking for other potential confounding infections Seth may have in addition to the pneumonia. The pulmonologist also wants another chest X-ray to be sure the pneumonia is indeed going away. In the doctor's words, they're "a little concerned" that his need for oxygen isn't going down, but also said that's not terribly uncommon for babies with his
lung issues. It's great to see him so happy and lively, but perplexing to see how much his tummy hurts him when they press on it. The left side is fine, it's the right that is painful.

Thanks again for caring and praying!
Carrie

  7. Father, on Seth's behalf we come again asking for healing of his lungs and now his little tummy. Please, Lord, let the doctors quickly find the reason for this new issue so that it might be quickly healed. Thank you so much for the blessings of help at home, and please heal the other babies and Isaac of their colds. We also lift up Carrie (and Sam) and pray for peace and rest for them and they are needed both at home and the hospital. And, Lord, we pray that Gavin is feeling better and that he is able to do all he needs to do in PNG and that he gets home safely. You have richly blessed this precious family and we asked for Your continued blessings knowing that You hear and will answer according to Your will. All honor and glory are Yours. Amen. NKL
