It looks like Seth has bacterial pneumonia. He is being started on a strong antibiotic and they are admitting him until he is no longer needing oxygen.
This is terrible timing for us (not that any time would be good), because I am leaving on Sunday for a 2 1/2 week trip to Papua New Guinea to move out of our current house into a new, bigger one. It's a long story, but the bottom line is we need to vacate the house for the next use, but the newer house will likely get some renters (unlike our current one), thus saving us money in the long run until we get back. The tickets are non-refundable.
With Seth in the hospital for what may be an extended stay, we need some extra help around the house while I am gone. If any of you are nearby and able to help, please let us know!
With thanks and prayers,
Gavin
This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.
Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

Wonder why someone already there in PNG can't move your things from one house to another. It is possible that the airline will refund the tickets or allow them to be used at a later date, if they know the reason for your not going now.
ReplyDeleteGavin has some jobs to do there only he can do, but of course if needed he would stay home! Family is always first. - Carrie

DeleteWhoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
ReplyDeletewill rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
Surely he will save you
from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”
Bless you guys! praying hard for Seth, and you'all. May the move go smoothly. Betsy
