I was going to hold off posting until the doctors did their rounds, but there are so many patients today it may be quite a while yet. The word from the nurse is that he'll be getting systemic steroids to try and speed the lung healing, and he's also receiving bacteria (how funny that sounds!) to go to work in his gut in an attempt to stop or at least slow down the diarrhea. He's vomited a couple times today, but not nearly as often as yesterday. His breathing looks better today, but he's still on the same amount of oxygen. As I type, he's receiving chest physiotherapy (CPT), which means someone is thumping rhythmically on his chest. It really helps him cough up the junk in his chest! The [surprisingly forceful!] thumping loosens it. He really loved his CPT and almost fell asleep. :)
(See below.)
But after CPT ended, he was raring to go! He loves pulling up on his crib.
He also loves looking out the window.
Clearly, he looks and feels and acts a lot better, despite still needing oxygen and having a junky chest infection.
Thanks for praying! I couldn't do this without all the help and support we're receiving at home. What an enormous blessing!
Love,
Carrie
