This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

Got someone! And Gracie is crawling all over!

Thanks for volunteering, Trish! :)

Gracie is SO cute crawling and laughing and babbling all over. Hooray, Grace! She crawled by 9 months adjusted age, within normal development. We're SO grateful; we continue to work with and encourage Seth, and he's making slow but steady progress. He's definitely getting to the toys he really wants that are just out of reach. He scooches a bit and uses his hands on the floor to stabilize himself as he reaches way out. Hooray, Seth! He also ate really well for the speech therapist today - pears off of a spoon. Thanks for praying!

Love,
Carrie

  1. Crawling is a funny things with some babies. My youngest never crawled - she scooched around on her bum and told her older brother's what she wanted. She didn't walk until she was two.

She is now a lovely 21 year old young lady attending college, and running around just fine.

  3. You two don't know me, but I went to college with your cousin Annelies. My husband and I have been praying for the quints (and the rest of your family) every evening since about a month before they were born. We are so thankful to be able to lift you up in prayer daily, and we wish them all a very happy first birthday this week!

  5. I am not quite sure my nephew ever crawled either, just scooted around on his butt. He is a healthy 17 year old, will be a senior in high school this year and has played varsity soccer for 3 of his 4 high school years. Not problems there from not crawling/creeping!

    1. Crawling isn't even a technical/official milestone anymore; as long as kids figure out a way to get around, the "experts" don't care! :)

  6. Thank You, Lord, for Your mercy and grace concerning these precious little ones. So much progress in one year from where they started out so frail and weak, and they are now crawling, and babbling, and getting into all sorts of marvelous mischief! It is truly amazing, Lord, and proof that miracles still happen. Thank You for blessing all the Jones this past year, and we pray Your continued blessings on this wonderful family. All honor and glory to You, Father. NKL
