This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

Seth stable, praise God

He's at the same machine settings he was when I last posted and needing slightly less oxygen (45-46%). Please continue to pray he can breathe easily and be happy and peaceful. They switched his morphine to methadone, which he really responded well to. They are weaning the methadone today, so we pray he tolerates that without any distress. He will not return to St Paul until he can be back on regular CPAP (with no supportive breaths to keep his lungs well expanded, which he's receiving now).

We are at Children's now; Gavin is holding Seth and loving it. We kind of have to "fight" to decide which of us gets to, it's so precious! Tomorrow is my turn, as was yesterday. :) Gavin is an amazing daddy to all 6 kids. What a loving, hard-working guy and considerate husband. He did the 4 am feeding for David since I did the 12:35 am one, and today Aunt Deb and Marmi (Gavin's mom) and Grandmommy (my mom) are on Baby David duty, each in turn. Thank you, God, for all Your provision! Thank all of you through whom He is providing!! It amazes and humbles us: meals, cleaning, laundry, gifts, diapers, support, help with babies, etc., etc. Your prayers and caring mean more than we can express.

Marcie (who weighs 7 lb 13 oz, as does Seth) may be able to come home any day now! She has been eating a lot better, thank God! Please pray Will follows her example (he's 8 lb 13 oz, but just too sleepy to eat sometimes, although he's very hungry!). Grace (5 lb 7 oz) took all of her early morning bottle but was then too tired to nurse later. Please pray she can get off her flow and Vapotherm, even off the nasal cannula, Lord willing!

I'll close for now. Thanks again; all glory to God for all that He's done and is going to do!

In His grip,
Carrie, for us all

  2. Blessed, blessed news regarding little Seth....prayers continue for him. Delighted to hear Marcie is eating better and may be going home soon, praise the Lord! That Will will turn out to be a laid back baby...one that is happy to be on the "fringes" of all that's happening and just taking it all in! He's a "thinker" "Will the Wise"! Prayers and praise for the progress Gracie is making too....she has a bit of catching up to do but she'll soon be joining her Sister! I can imagine all the grandma's at your house loving every minute of caring for David...he is one lucky boy! Hope Issac had a nice Halloween and enjoyed the church activities! Bless you all...

  6. Do Marcie and Seth really weigh 7lb.13oz.? That seems like a really fast weight gain in a short time? Anyway, it's encouraging to see the steady growth and steady improvement in all of them! God has been so gracious. Even though it is a daily roller coaster, if you step back and look at the whole picture, they are all improving so much!

  10. Thank you Jesus for all the blessings on "our" sweet babies!! Can you just imagine those "big" babies still in your tummy?!! God has and continues to bless your family and I know how hard it is for all the running around your family is having to do beside split time between babies. I know you would love them to all be at home but God's is in control and He is working on them one by one so that you bring home BIG HEALTHY babies. Give Isaac and hug and then kisses for all the babies. (extra one for Seth) Julie - Texas
