This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

Four of five quints sleeping (video)

I shot this yesterday afternoon shortly after Will arrived home.  After the chaos of feeding them, the quiet of four sleeping babies couldn't be any louder.

  7. May you have many hours of them all sleeping at the same time. Wouldn't it be wonderful if they all got on the same schedule - or is it better to have it staggered a bit? Whatever - just thank God they are home and appear to be doing well.

    Blessings,

  15. Oh my goodness! How beautiful!

On another note, what are those thing they are sleeping in? They look like a cross between a bassinet and a bouncy chair. I must know because I must have one for my next baby ;)

Thinking of you and your beautiful babies every day.

  17. Thanks Gavin for making and posting this video. It is so precious to see all four home and together. Praying that Seth will be home for Christmas. However, we are all your prayer team. As precious as this is, you need to show us reality! How about the feeding time with all of them fussing or crying! Then we would be much more driven to pray. Of course, I realize that there aren't any free hands at that time.
Praying for you all. God's blessings abound.

  19. I loved the video!!! Thanks so much for sharing. They are all beautiful. Congratulations on all the homecomings!!! So happy to hear Seth is doing so much better. He will be home before you know it. I pray for you all every day and always especially for Seth. Gavin, I have also prayed for your patience. I was so touched that you chose to share that and ask for prayer. I think everyone knows how much you love your babies, but that doesn't mean it hasn't turned your world upsde down and that adjustments have to be made. It is an honor to say a special prayer for you. Happy Thanksgiving to you all and God bless each of you, you are all true blessings.

  21. Oh wow. What a beautiful sight and a wonderful answer to the prayers of so many around the world. I tear up every time I see them - the photo's and video are lovely. Praying Seth will be home soon too. We know the days ahead will be busier than you could have ever imagined and pray that God will give you enough patience when yours is worn thin, enough rest when your heads are weary, enough faith when days are dark, and joy abundant as you gaze on these precious babes.

Sending love and prayers from Australia,

    Sandra.

  25. Happy Thanksgiving. What a precious family. Soon Seth will be home with you all, too. I continue to pray for all of you. I pray for Isaac, that he, too, will rejoice rather than feel slighted. I'm sure that he can be a big help with his brothers and sisters, also. May God continue to bless you all as you begin a ne phase of family life. One day you will be back in PNG flying people like us around. I don't know if you were the one who flew us in or out of Ukarumpa when we visited Dave and Anne Smith last March. Barbara Hudson

  27. Hi Gavin and Carrie and Isaac. We are so thankful that God has blessed your journey with the quintuplets in amazing ways. We pray often and it is encouraging to hear that many of these prayers are answered. This doesn't take away however from the enormity of your situation and learning to deal with a very fast growing family. May God continue to supply you with additional loads of energy and strength in the coming months as you feel your world has shrunk to the needs of 5 little ones. We wish we could be there to give you physical support however as that is not possible we will continue to pray for you daily. Love to you all. xxxx
