Hi again,
The hospital called to say that, due to some airway closure/alveoli collapse, they had to set the machine to give Seth 10 extra breaths through his cannula. It's kind of like being halfway between CPAP and ventilator; we PRAY he doesn't need any more help than he's now receiving! Perhaps he was weaned a bit too quickly off of the machine settings, the nurse practitioner said; we certainly hope and pray this isn't any sort of rebound effect from the steroids. Please continue to pray for Seth's peace and healing. Again, to God be all the glory!
The other 4 babies continue to do very well, praise God.
Love and gratitude for all you are doing and for praying,
Carrie
This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.
Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

Lord we Come before you again, in Praise that Seth has come SO FAR,,,Continue to heal his lungs so he may breath on his own and there will not be any damage to his lung or brain....Please comfort his body as he goes off the medicine he has been on for so long...Please Lord Bless The "Little Fighter Seth" and Praise and thank-you Lord for all the work you have done and am doing in Will Grace, and Marcie, and David too... sounds like a couple more Babies might be home soon,, If you could let me if the "Quintuplets caps" ever make it?
ReplyDeleteHi, Brenda: The Quintessential Grandma here-Carrie's mom. Yes, the caps made it & they are DARLING. Carrie replied to one of your blog comments to say the caps were used to decorate the tables at the baby shower given by their church. Everybody went kind of nuts over them. :-) Carrie will send you some photos. I am so grateful for your prayers for our precious ones & your heart for our Lord God.
DeleteThank-you, All of you, must be VERY VERY HAPPY,,,but VERY BUSY TOO,,,I just wanted to make sure they did not get lost in the mail....It's a Blessing you are there to give such support to Gavin, Carrie, and Isaac(and the Babies)..God Bless You and all the Grandparents!!!!
DeleteAlways have extra prayers waiting to be said for these babies....especially Seth. Praying......
ReplyDeleteSo happy to read all the babies are doing so much better, indeed happy days. Even where Seth is at now, this is good. I know it is scary because he needs more help than he did, but this is still great progress for this little miracle. Prayers to continue...
ReplyDeletePrayers for little Seth being said from Excelsior Springs, MO.
ReplyDeleteSeth will be fine :) You are doing a wonderful job! Continual prayers from Florida.
ReplyDeleteLord, we lift up Seth and ask that he be able to tolerate the lower machine settings and the weaning from the medicines, so that his little lungs can heal and he will soon be on his way home to join David. We also lift up Will, Marcie and Gracie, that they too may soon be on their way home, so the the Jones family can be whole and under one roof. Thank you, Lord, for Your continued blessings. All praise and honor belong to You. Amen. NKL
