This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

Still sick, but cute!

Thanks for praying. They are holding their own. Seth is down to a CPAP of 5 and oxygen requirement of 35% last night!!! Thank you for continuing to pray for him. And as always, thank you for all the many lovely things you are doing for us or sending to us. We are honored and humbled, as always!! What an incredible support team. I'm averaging about one acknowledgement per week, so if I don't get back to you before the quints are 5, please know how very grateful we are for your thoughtfulness. :) Life is VERY busy, needless to say, and there is no way I could do this without the army of helpers around me. I love how they love my babies!

Some pictures:

They are all starting to hold up their heads and look around.
Grace with Aunt Pam

Seth in his favorite snoozing spot - an automatic bouncing chair

David in the same brand of chair at home

David and big brother Isaac watching the picture slideshow on TV - actually, David is watching the world go by!

Will also watching the world quite contentedly from his Boppy "arm chair"

David is so grown up with his strong neck and observant looks - again with Aunt Pam

Marcie seems to be either asleep or about to fall asleep - as in this photo.
If she were an only child she would be EASY! :) Thanks, Jan and Diana, for the head bows!

Gracie showing off her head bow and her cannula: "This is my cannula and I am not ashamed!"
She had an excellent pulmonologist report, praise God, and we are starting to decrease her time on oxygen each day.

Will cuddling with a wonderful new friend we've met on this journey!
Not sure if I should use her name without permission. :}

  3. Yay for the little loves making it through the sick time! Seeing these photos makes me wish I didn't have a day job so that I could hang out with them more during the day. It's only been a week since I was at your house, but already they look so much bigger!

  5. They are THRIVING in all that love! Seth looks wonderful too! Continued praise and blessings, you are indeed blessed by God with these babies and the wonderful folks that are lending a hand, a shoulder, a lap! The picture of Isaac touched me so much, he will be the best "big brother" quints ever had! Prayers, as always, continue for all in your family. Also, I hope your Mom's surgery went well and she now has clearer vision to really get a good look at those beautiful grandbabies of hers! Thank you for taking the time to update....we know you are all so very busy!

  9. Continued prayers for you all. We ask God's blessings and healing to continue as each child grows stronger and matures, especially for sweet Seth as he comes closer to that time when he can be with the rest of the family! Blessings for all the caregivers and for you, Carrie & Gavin, that you will find rest and patience to deal with all the babies and all of "us!" We thank you for sharing and allowing us to love you and the babies during this hectic time. The pictures are so thoughtful, and it is so fun to see how each baby is growing and changing. They are a joy, not only to you, but to us all! And, this includes Isaac who is a trooper!

  10. Carrie or Gavin, I was supposed to come over tomorrow or Sunday to see Gavin's parents and help with the babies, however, one of my cousins was just hospitalized yesterday at childrens and has been having procedures etc. So I don't think I'll be able to slip away before I leave Monday. I will try contacting them tomorrow but I think I misplaced marcias number! I hope to see them in California. Love to all :)
