This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

Mole rats and other creatures of the underground

Gracie and David meet in a tunnel in the Underground portion of the Zoo. She's happy to see him!

Gracie with her best friend in the whole world, Megan (the daughter of Naomi, our babysitter).

Isaac and a barely-visible David in the dome that peaks up from the underground tunnels.

Will and a barely-visible Megan
Will was super interested too!

Isaac and David in front of the gross but oddly cute mole rat babies.
David's turn to be fascinated

One of my all-time favorites of Marcie, cooing and talking to the mole rat babies in her high-pitched, ecstatically interested and curious voice. I took a short video on my phone to try to capture the moment.

  1. Is it possible to put the phone video of Marcie & mole rats on line?
