This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

Seth: fever of 103.4 degrees

Seth was crying out in his sleep just now. When I went to check on him he was HOT to the touch. I took his temp rectally three times, so I know it's accurate. We all know this could end up with him in the hospital. I am praying that the LORD heals him even tonight and at home, but gives us the grace and strength to deal with yet another illness (as He always does) if His answer isn't "yes" this time.

I will call the doctor in the morning and keep monitoring Seth in the meantime. He's already hooked up to oxygen as per normal at night (for another 4-6 weeks, following his last hospitalization) and is on a pulse oximeter to alert us if his oxygen saturations dip to 90% or below.

Thanks for caring and joining us in prayer, those of you who feel led to do so.

  3. Lord, You know all that's going on in Seth's little body. Care for him today; bring down the temperature and help him to fight whatever is causing it. Thank You for the grace that You have continued to pour out on Gavin, Carrie, Isaac and all the little ones. Give them strength for today. Thank You for listening to our prayers, God. Amen.
