This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

It's 8:00 Friday morning

. . . and already Marcie has found and consumed all but the exoskeleton of a small beetle, Marcie and Will have broken into a K-cup and spread coffee grounds (thankfully decaf) all over their mouths, bodies and the floor, Marcie slipped on her own drool and hit the wood, and Seth vomited, then pooped in the bath and all over his towel.

  1. Looks like you're in for an interesting day! Thank God He sees what they do and keeps them from killing themselves with their antics. Praying daily for you and as its not easy to keep up with one let alone five children. Blessings!!

  2. It's times like these that I am thankful I am only keeping up with one 9 month old. His older siblings are thankfully for the most part past the everything in the mouth stage. About a month ago we had to take the baby to Cook's because he swallowed a hair clip. I thought it would pass until he started vomiting at 3:30 in the morning. Took him, the x-rayed him from throat to pelvis only to find that it wasn't in there. No idea where it went to o_O Someone suggested God dissolved it, so that's what we have went with because I know it was in the back of his throat and didn't come out. I can't imagine how busy you must be with all of them trying to taste everything not nailed down and nailed down. Best wishes!

    1. Oh my word! Thank God that hair clip didn't perforate anything and was "dissolved" somehow. My best friend's parents found her with a tree frog in her mouth, my mom found my brother with a cockroach, but only the wings and a leg were left! (We grew up on the hilly plains of Colombia, so both tree frogs and cockroaches were abundant.) God protects our kids for sure! Carrie

  3. Maybe you need tracking devices on them. And who needs a dog when you have Will.

    1. Even my "What to Expect the First Year" says it's not harmful for babies to eat off a reasonably clean floor. We wipe that mat down between feeding sessions, so I figure "what the hey?" and let it go. ;) I pity any dog that would like in this house . . . Carrie

  4. I am sorry I had to laugh but I am praying for you. What a troop you have. Just to let you know after 28 years we finished the Consultant Checks of the Sudest New Testament yesterday afternoon. I videoed it. Still a lot of work to finish and have ready for typesetting in April but this is one huge milestone. It is sort of like our 5th child. :)
