This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.

The real "April Fool"?

For writing a blog post about fake allergies, and now all the kids are sick!!! :) Yes, I have Gavin's permission to post this. I thought he was trying to delete it from our photos and he said, "No, I'm starring it!" (i.e., rating it higher as one of our best photos).

And last week I noted how extremely rare it was to have our little ones so healthy for so long, with only one noteworthy cold earlier in the winter . . . then the symptoms of this cold started the next day. But I'm still very, very grateful this hasn't been a continuous problem at our house. It's hard when they can't breathe well or sleep well because their noses are so full. (Speaking of which: BEST baby gift ever: The Snotsucker! Look it up online. Thank you, Thom and Jonelle! It's so much safer and easier to use than the traditional bulb syringes!) I've also made a bulk batch of saline solution. :)

    This doesn't just happen on April Fools, folks! I could dig up a mountain of similar photos (but I won't). I'm so thankful that you guys have maintained your sense of humor through this journey of raising FIVE babies all at once.     Have you guys thought about doing the March for Babies Walk? MarchforBabies.org Not sure if you could all go but it might be fun for Issac. The one this year is on April 20th, there is still time to create a team and send in pictures for the Garden of Hope for each baby. (Garden of Hope is for walkers to walk in memory of or in honor of) Just throwing it out there! Praying healing over your household and those precious babies!

    Hi there!
    have you researched the Vicks Vapor plug? its an outlet warmer that emits menthol vapors, it was wonderful when my kids were babies and had stuffy noses! u might want to check with the babies Ped and make sure it would be OK for them, but as a mother i recommend it!
    Just a thought! Glad to see that all of the babies are doing so well!! and the two of you are truly and inspiration
