This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

Seth fans, brace yourselves!

There are a lot of pictures of Seth tonight, looking eerily like my brother and me as babies; he looks like me as he thins out because I was a skinny baby. Kenneth was NOT. Plus there is this adorable video highlighting Seth's famous giggle. His darling sisters feature heavily in it as well, and David has a brief cameo. Will can be heard in the background. (At one point he was screaming dramatically out of joy, but that part didn't make the cut. You should thank me; his scream is piercing!)

Taken tonight just before bed. He is just so HAPPY all the time!

Loving playing with his blocks, and sitting just like my brother always did.
Joy! Discovering both hands fit through the blocks!!!

(He really needs a haircut. Are you reading this, Aunt Thera? I keep forgetting to call you!)

Taken with my phone. He looks so concerned! He wasn't, though, just fascinated with the phone!
Thank you for praying Seth through his near-deadly struggle with premature lung disease, through his first few challenging months at home, through his three hospitalizations, and through his various therapies (including food therapy, from which he graduated this week! He is also walking like a champ, so Lord willing he won't need those little inside-shoe foot braces.) I know God provided Samantha/Nanny Sam as our helpmeet during those LONG nights and longer hospital stays, and we're thrilled to have her back over Spring Break! Be looking for pictures of Auntie Sam with her babies who have turned into toddlers in her absence. :)

  1. YES, I will admit I'm, a dedicated ,top of the list, faithful " Seth Club" Member.....His eyes, smile and yes that laugh is so precious..Every day must be a joy to hear his laugh.....But ALL the Babies/toddlers have stole my heart this last year and a half....Marcie's personality..My one daughter was very picky about the clothes she wore, and still today will say "It just doesn't FEEL right'..the curiosity of the boys, the smile of Gracie and her love of books" my other daughter, from a VERY early age loved books, and now goes to garage sales to find very old books to add to her collection .... Like other have said, you are a Super Mom to have all the kids to care for, and packing, organizing , and still faithfully blogging...I hope after things get settled that you will still be able to give the" Quint Club" some updates...It's really interesting to see how the girls are so feminine, and the boys have the exploring minds of boys....I just have fallen in love with the Quints, From going though all the medical issues the first year to all the toddler behavior and activities they are doing now... Is there a time limit on when thing can be donated? ..Still Prayers from Dayton

    1. You are too kind, Brenda, but we so appreciate you and your love for our family! It's fun to hear about your daughters, too. I love watching these little personalities develop. I definitely plan to keep the blog updated over in PNG - don't you think it will be interesting to raise quints in a developing country where people still wear bush materials as clothing in some remote areas?? :) Of course, that's not true of our area, but I feel like the adventure will be just beginning in some ways when we get our family over there. Life is just different, and it will be fun to blog about that and keep up with our kids' developments and funny stories. As far as donations, we have to have our shipment items packed up and ready to load on the truck by the middle of the month. Don't stress yourself, though, as we already feel loved and have been abundantly blessed! Blessings to you too!! Love, Carrie

  2. OMGoodness, those pics of Seth baby just made me cry! He is beautiful Carrie as they ALL are. That little one worked his way into my heart and there he'll surely stay for the rest of my life! You are SO blessed times 6 !! I hope your move goes smoothly for all of you and you get settled back into your new home and back where your heart is! Gracie continues to get prettier and prettier, those eyes can just melt your very soul! Marcie always seems happy, smiling and "quiet"...David, he looks so much like Gavin and even has his Daddy's smile...David always looks like he's interested in how things "work"...you'll no doubt find things in pieces when he figures out how to use tools! Will, always seems content to "be" with the other kids...and always looking for something to get into! And Marcie, such a sweetie I think she's going to be a Veterinarian with her love of animals, stuffed or alive! They are all getting so big and are obviously thriving.....and Isaac, a big brother with a heart of gold that has really grown into his role! I'm sure Isaac is getting anxious to get back to PNG, it sounds like he loves it there...and all his friends will be happy to know he'll be home soon....blessings and peace during the packing. We're 4 days away from a move across country and have been in the throes of packing for months now....it's not easy on us 2 older folks and we don't have anyone else to care for! Get some sleep, your gonna need it! Praying for you and your family as always....

    1. Thank you so much! You're right, I am blessed x 6 and never can forget it! Even when they are being grumpy or loud or getting into everything, I have to thank God that they are healthy enough to do so! :) Blessings on you in your move, and I know you'll help pray us across the Pacific during our 16-hour flight on June 8th-9th. Love and gratitude, Carrie
