This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

Gavin - update

Hi all,

Gavin has a follow-up gastroenterology appointment on Friday, the first slot available. He should get a treatment plan, or the beginning of one, and then hopefully be able to book tickets back to Ukarumpa. I am planning to return Monday regardless. A week away from the kids is plenty! There are no flights to Ukarumpa with availability until then anyway.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the kids are having a great time and seem very secure and happy, thanks to wonderful friends and in answer to the prayers of so many. Please keep praying for them!

Gavin and I are making the best of this "forced" expensive vacation (especially as it started as a medivac during a new health insurance year!) and managing to enjoy ourselves despite being separated from our six treasured children. ;) We are staying at a lodge that is jointly run by our mission organization and another. It's beautiful, secluded and inexpensive, and we thank God for this lovely provision!

Much love and gratitude,
Carrie

  1. Happy to hear he is doing well and they will have some kind of treatment for his condition soon. I can only imagine that this time away from the kids is good for you both but I know you must be missing them! Prayers for all those Angels that have taken the kids and are watching over them so well while you are away. The homecoming will be wonderful! Prayers continue...
