This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

Marmi and Papa visit us

 Hi all!

It’s so long since I updated; life has been unusually overwhelming to me (but full of blessings, too!). Most recently, David has had Flu B after having had Flu A over Christmas. He’s just been miserable, so sore and exhausted and depressed. We appreciate any prayer on his behalf — also, that none of the rest of us get it, Lord willing!!

In very fun news, Marmi and Papa came to see us! As Marcie said, “I’m always so happy when they come and so sad when they leave!”

Seth wanted to take Papa to see the Commemorative Air Force WWII bombers at the airport where Gavin worked when we were newlyweds and Isaac was a baby! Seth is obsessed with WWII aircraft, and we are friends with one of the mechanics. Will thoroughly enjoyed the tour too. David was sick. 😢

Being lady like in Waxahachie for lunch with my two lovely moms!

Gracie’s love bird loves startling Marmi by suddenly landing on her.

Will’s job last week was to chop off a dead branch.

Will with his bestie and cousin! They just love playing together every Friday when he’s off school.

This kitten came to us emaciated and beat up and terrified. She’s darling, and keeps coming back! She always looks dreamy-eyed rather than terrified now.

Happy Birthday to Isaac!

How is this kid 22 years old and MARRIED?? to the BEST wife on earth, as evidenced by these couple of photos. A surprise party at Red Robin; Bundtini cakes homemade by Meagan! They have wonderful friends. What a blessing. (And isn't he handsome, with a beautiful wife?) You might recognize a couple of the guys as groomsmen of his.

For those who might not know, Isaac and Meagan live in married housing at Boyce College. They both work at Memoria Press, although Meagan is having to take a break from Memoria this semester to do her observation hours for teaching.

Thank you for praying for Isaac for all these years! God is GOOD.

Road trip photos - Happy New Year!

Walnut Canyon, AZ

Meteor Crater

David’s snowball got bigger and bigger as we walked along - this wasn’t even full sized yet! Doesn’t he look mischievous?!

With Gavin’s siblings and their families ❤️
We love them all so much!! What a blessing to relish a snowy Sequoia grove together.

Another sweet blessing: Our dear daughter-in-law, Meagan, the newest addition to the Jones family!

Gracie’s snowball wasn’t quite as threatening as David’s, but it’s still very impressive!

I grabbed this photo of Marcie as she was putting her coat back on. Snowball-fighting is warm work, even on the coldest days!

As per usual, Isaac inserted himself into a shot I was attempting to take of someone else. So I just took it of him instead. He always acts so innocent. 😆

Happy cousins with Will in the lead

Yup. I found the full-size snowball photo.
