This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.
Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

This, that, and some other things
Hi friends,
I am weary and sleepy but blessed, so here are a few random pictures from our past couple of months. Sorry I'm so terrible at blogging nowadays! I'm working at school in Seth's kindergarten classroom (SO SWEET!!!) and in the Clinic lab, so life is just busier and more full. But again, blessed. :)
The butcher kept offering to cut us some of this freshly slaughtered pig for our Christmas dinner. He got NO takers. |
Gavin swimming in the river near the village of translator friends |
Lots of little helpers unloading the helicopter! I love PNG kids! |
These boys. So many expressions, so much noise! They're testing out a spy microphone. |
Lighting a New Year's lantern (but not on New Year's) |
I love Marcie's face as she watches the lantern start to fill. |
David and Seth at the boat dock in Lae. |
Enjoying icy drinks in HOT Lae |
Gracie on top, Isaac on bottom, a friend in the middle, also in Lae |
Gracie with our parrot. He's such a sweetheart - almost as sweet as she is! |
Seth dressed as the Green Ninja from LEGO Ninjago. The parrot is named after the Green Ninja (La-Loyd) |
