David is running out of IV veins, so they are going to attempt a PICC line into him again today. They have already tried unsuccessfully four times this week. They have been able to get the line in, but have been unable to get the line to thread all the way to the heart, so they could use our prayers. Thank you!
Gavin
This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.
Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

Prayers for your sweet boy (and of course all the rest too). One of my triplet daughters ran out of veins and since she was barely two pounds many doctors tried for hours upon hours attempting to get a picc line in with no success. Finally after they practically stressed her out to the point of no return (she had NEC- preemie disease) a neonatalogist was able to finally do it! I watched the whole thing and never cried so hard in my life. You wonder how God's grace can give them enough hope and strength when they are so tiny...it's simply ah-mazing!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been able to be with the babies during their PICC attempts or eye exams. It's upsetting enough just KNOWING about it; watching it would be so much worse! But I wish I could be there to comfort. I just have to trust that God is big enough and cares about "the least of these" enough to comfort them as you said. If He cares for a sparrow, how much more a child He formed and loved before the foundation of the earth! Still harder than anything else I've done before, watching my babies cry during procedure after procedure, even when it's only a heel stick. :( Do you see any sign of lasting trauma? That's what I wonder about sometimes. . .
DeleteWe so appreciate all of your information so that we know how to pray specifically for you all! The news about Isaac is fantastic - exactly how we asked God to intervene! Continued prayers for the PICC line for David. The Merced Sun-Star had a great article and pictures of everyone - what a testimony to God's way of answering prayers. I am saving the article for your folks.
ReplyDeleteWe so appreciate you praying specifically! :)
DeleteLord, please hold David in the palm of Your hand as another PICC line attempt is made - guide the doctors and the line so that this is a successful procedure and his discomfort will be brief. We thank you profusely for the prayers answered for Isaac and the other babies, and know that You love them all even more than their parents. And, in knowing that, Carrie and Gavin can affirm that You have everything under control and seek only that Your Will be done. Praises and thanksgiving for all that You are Lord. Amen. NKL
