Isaac's prayer request

Isaac has been sick for the last couple days with a low fever, sore throat, etc.  He asked me today to post a prayer request on the blog for him.  I forget his exact words, but he said he knows how God likes to answer prayer and has seen how He has done so many other times for us.  Thankfully he's been getting good rest at night and eating decently well.  Thank you for your prayers for our little bud.  Please also pray that the babies don't get reinfected.  We've been strict with Isaac that he sanitize his hands every time he leaves his room, which isn't very often right now.

The "witching hour" is in full effect in the household.  Each baby has been really rough to get to bed in the evening hours-- exhausted, but refusing to sleep.  Lots of fun.  It's a really good thing they're cute. :)

Carrie is amazing.  I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but watching her with the babies is wonderful.  She is so full of love for them even when they're screaming and un-soothable.  She has incredible patience with them-- so much deeper than I'll ever have after 200 years of parenting.  She reads about the babies: how to help them, what stage they're in, what they can and can't do and why, etc., etc.  She is the mother of mothers, but will disagree when she reads this.  I am SO thankful that I'm going through this whole experience with her.  Not to minimize the enabling of the Holy Spirit through this all, but without her around I'd be in the loony bin, padded room, shackled, straight-jacket . . . you get the picture.  Of course, if she wasn't around, I wouldn't have quintuplets.  I'd better sign off here.

Gavin

  1. Asking God to place His white light of healing around you Isaac. I hope you get to feeling better very soon, kind of a crummy time of year to get sick, right around Christmas! Praying you'll get a good nights sleep and feel much better tomorrow.

Had to smile about your comments on Carrie, you BOTH sound pretty amazing to me! Prayers continue for you all, especially Isaac and Seth tonight!

  3. Father, prayers continue for Isaac; please bring him quickly back to full health and protect the babies and Carrie and Gavin, so that they don't get sick. Thank You for Isaac's depth of faith and bless his request for healing. And Your mercy and grace and great peace is requested as the babies need a nightly routine that doesn't include unrest and unhappiness. Thank You for loving this family and us as You do. All praise and honor are due You. Amen. NKL

  5. My husband says the same thing about ME with our kids, unlike your Carrie, I would agree with him. :) I've said before that I am so nervous, after 7 years without an infant, to have another one next year, but I keep saying "it's not 5, it's not 5". LOL. Seriously, you and your family are an inspiration. I find my strength in God, and He helps me see it through people like you and situations like yours. I can do this... and so can you! :)

  8. I'm with Amy, you are an inspiration to me! We have 8 children ranging in age from 13 to 7 months, all singletons. I sometimes feel very overwhelmed and then I think, "We don't have quints!" Of course, your quints are a huge blessing but the work load is mindboggling.

By the way, our littlest guy (7 months) sleeps 10 to 11 hours a night now on average. The time will come when you will get plenty of sleep, I promise! I hope you keep the website up and active because I really want to know what life with 5 2 year olds is like!

    I'm praying for Isaac.

God bless, Laraba from Dayton, Ohio

  10. Isaac is correct, more prayers make a difference. So, sending him prayers to be well ASAP!

We know "witching hour" all too well. Ours love to take turns fussing and screaming in the evening. All the experts say multiples don't wake each other up. I don't think the experts raised high order multiples! Ours at least sleep great at night, about 10-11 hours so we can't complain too much.
