Update Nov 8th

Hi all,

Thanks for praying! Seth has remained stable on his oxygen and machine settings, and I thought he looked like he was breathing a bit more easily yesterday. I pray he continues to hold his own and can avoid any more steroids or increased settings. One huge thing is remaining infection-free; it's truly a HUGE provision from the Lord that none of our kids have gotten "colds" or other infections that could have been devastating! We praise the Lord for that and pray it continues, if He is willing. Thank you for praying!

Another prayer request is that I will be "living" at the NICU for the next couple of days, trying to get Will out of there. He's so huge (nearly 9 1/2 pounds), but not taking the bottle great still, so they are letting me demand-feed him while rooming-in next to the NICU. If he gains weight two nights in a row I will be able to take him home! Marcie should be cleared to go as soon as her stamina is such that she can eat what she needs to in a 48-hour period to be able to gain weight as well, and assuming she doesn't have another "bradycardia" (dropped heart-rate from forgetting to breath or choking on spit-up) like she did yesterday. Monday would be the earliest day for her homecoming. And Grace is doing the best of the three on her bottles, but still needs a little bit of air flow and oxygen (although last night they were able to turn off the oxygen for a while). So we pray her lungs heal up quickly, allowing her to join her siblings at home SOON!

Token cute baby picture; this is Marcie
This whole multiples thing is becoming very real and can be very overwhelming as I think of what newborns are like and how these are five separate individuals with differing needs! Thank you for your prayers and encouragement, not to mention all those who are helping in so many ways. We couldn't do this without you, God's provision and our "Aarons" during this time! (Exodus 17:12)

Love in Christ,
Carrie

  1. Hi Carrie,
You don't know me :-) but I've been following your blog and your precious babies ever since I first saw your story on the news. I just want you to know that I've been holding you in my prayers, and praying specifically for Seth.

    Peace!

  3. Again, good news and much praise abounds! Will continue praying as we have been. Great news on Seth....and I know Will can do it! Prayers go out for Marcie and her soon to be homecoming....Gracie will follow closely I'm sure. And Seth, such a miracle in his own right, so many blessings and so much praise go up to the One that holds all in the palms of His hands...thank you! I'm thinking that big brother Isaac will be more than able to handle some of the duties of caring for these little ones...I had forgotten to mention that his Halloween costume was perfect...a Ninja to protect his new brothers and sisters!

  4. All praise and honor to You, Lord - THANK YOU so much for the blessings and provisions. Such an awesome story of faith and inspiration You have given the Jones' and the rest of us to share through them. Please continue to bless and guide the hands that care for these babies, both at the hospital and at home. And please heal where healing is needed and give strength where needed so that this beautiful family can be under one roof. Your love and mercy abound, Lord, and we praise Your Holy Name. Amen. NKL

  6. My thoughts are with Will and Marcie today. I hope they are strong, and hungry, and grow, grow, grow.

Seth is so amazing. I hope he continues to do so much hard work on his own. I also hope precious Gracie's lungs heal and she can head towards coming home.

How precious would it be if you could have all your children home with you for Christmas?

    From
    Sarah

  8. Thank you for sharing such great news!! It is scary bringing home multiples, no doubt about that. It takes alot of hands and a house that rarely sleeps all at the same time. The time will fly by and before you know it they will be up walking and talking and it DOES get easier. You will look back and remember the time fondly, I promise. You wouldn't be realistic at all if you weren't a bit terrified at the thought, but you will see, it will all fall into place and will even be fun, most of the time. We will continue to pray.God Bless
