Help!! Spread the word!

We need your help!  Can you please spread the word to your family and friends that we are in need of more volunteers?  We have needs for daytime, evenings, overnights and weekends.  Additionally we will need help filling spots last minute when volunteers become sick.  So please, please send facebook notes, emails, etc that help is still needed and to please contact me at jonesquints@yahoo.com for more information.

Also, we have a few volunteers who we are trying to fly in from out of town and are wanting to see if anyone would be willing to donate air miles for a round trip (25,000) or one way (12,500 miles on American, not sure of amounts on other airlines)?  That way if they become sick, we would be able to re-schedule their trip easily so that they could actually be helping with the babies when they get here.  Please contact me if you are willing to make a donation.

Thank you,
Stacey Walter

  3. I don't know if this would work but it could be worth a shot. Is there a university that you could look for volunteers in the nursing and or child developement departments? This could give you a way to get volunteers and find a little bit about them before hand from their teachers and they could possible get a refernce for future jobs or grad school.

    1. That is such a good idea! Here in Australia you need to get a certain number of practical hours in before you can graduate as nurse or midwife. You should ask midwifery and nursing schools!

    2. I had been suggested that, too, and will certainly give it a shot when I get some "free" time. :) Thanks!

  4. My mom mentioned something about Helping Hands, I think they are called. Anything like that in the area?
I'm kept awake by my own little one most nights, so wouldn't be much help!

  5. Praying for help for you guys! Have you asked local churches to put a few lines in their bulletin about your need? I know if you were here in Ohio, there are lots of people from our church who would love to volunteer!

  6. Where exactly are you? Arlington? Duncanville? Maybe I have missed it. Could you possibly post your nearest major cross streets? I wish I could help but have no one to watch my own two for longer than an hour or so at a time normally. But maybe others reading would realize how close they are and be able to make a commitment.

    2. The Dallas Morning News article said we are in Duncanville which is not that big, so if would probably be enough for others in the area to know that. We had a great volunteer from Southlake and Seth's night nurse, too, in the past 24 hours. WOW! Thank you, God! So humbling that we don't even really know them and they go to this trouble. God bless you!

    1. Ah yes, the eating! Thank God it's a lot better - not perfect, not enough, but better. Enough so we can keep an eye on her weight and stop "panicking" at her lack of interest in eating more than an ounce. She could use more prayer, though. She, too, has the reflux and once she was started on Will's formula (no more breast milk! :( ) she did much better. Thanks for asking and caring and praying! I answered the question about Seth last night, I believe. :) Love and blessings, Carrie

  8. What about a Christian High School which requires service hours? Maybe some would be too young to help directly with the babies but could do housework, fold laundry, do yardwork, etc? Or, what about creating a couple internship positions that are structured so college students could get credit for helping? Could be nursing students, future missionaries, child development majors, etc. They could report to someone other than Carrie & Gavin since you'd probably have to do some administrative paperwork to do so they get school credit. Is there a seniors group at a local church (maybe full of grandparents whose grandkids live far away)? Maybe at women's group like Bible Study Fellowship? Will pray for an abundance of helpers for you!

    1. Oooo, good ideas! I was a Children's Leader in BSF for a few years and still know a lot of the admin and leaders at our local one; will try that! Thanks for praying!! Carrie

  9. I only have 2 facebook friends in Texas, but sent them both messages a couple days ago. It turns out one of them knows you already, but the other one (who happens to be a nurse at Baylor UMC, but she lives a distance north of Dallas) said she would pass the word on to her Dallas friends and see what they could do. Praying for you all!

  10. Duncanville High School students, especially the Seniors, are required to do a certain number of community service hours too. They would have to make sure that helping your family would qualify. I know they can volunteer for low income families and get credits.
