Marcie and grandparents

We just went to visit Marcie and she's still doing well.  They're getting ready to transport her back to rejoin her siblings at St. Paul.  They did a sonogram on her today and it showed that her PDA is gone, praise God!  They can come and go several times, but we are thankful that it is not an issue now and she can go back onto her feeding schedule.  She has lost a little bit of weight while at Childrens', so we're eager for her to gain that back and more.

My (Gavin's) mom finally threw in the towel and bought tickets to come out on Monday.  We decided earlier that it would be most helpful for them to come when the babies come home.  At the same time, I doubted that Mom would be able to last that long without seeing her grandchildren.  She lasted longer than I thought she would-- then Dad gave in, too.  It will be great to have them here, though just for a short time.

The nurses in the NICU made a special shirt for us a few days ago, which I am modeling below.  I think I'll have to frame it.

  1. So special of the nurses. Love the shirts. I was away from the computer for 2 days and quickly began to catch up this morning before church. Glad that Marcie will be re-joining her siblings and your parents coming to check the babies out for herself.

How special--You will cherish that shirt forever. I recd an email from your mom---and yes, not surprised that they cannot hold out any longer!! Thanks for the wonderful blogs, and updates--they are wonderful. I put you all on the prayer chain at church today---so know you are being held up with prayer in Crescent City now also!!!! Love you all, Phyllis and Richard

  8. My heart just sang with joy that Marcia is on her way! She so thoughtfully loved and prayed for me leading our bible study this spring that I have just had to love and pray for you and your beautiful family as well. I can't wait for her to arrive to shower you and everyone else with love.

  9. I love reading these. Someday, I'm sure you and Carrie will be less delighted at the number of things that will be covered with their tiny muddy footprints, but for now, it's pretty cute, isn't it? ;) Love you ALL! (Could we get some suggestions for surprises for Isaac? I was thinking Lego Hero? Which does he have? Maybe you could just add some things to the registry for him in all your spare time? ;))

  13. Be sure to ask the nurses for some of that ink on another piece of fabric so you can test how permanent it is (wash it). You may need to frame the shirt and never wash it or you might lose the footprints.
