This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

School birthday pics and holding baby Mira

On their actual birthday, the quints' preschool teacher Debbie made them all crowns. So far they don't seem to mind having to share the spotlight on their big day. For their birthday cake at home we sang to each of them separately so they could hear their individual name and blow out a candle without having to "share" the song or candles.

The "Royal" Siblings

My kids are besotted with this little one and I don't blame them! What a sweetie, so good natured and kind enough to let small kids hold her (with me right there to keep her safe). By the time we thought to take pictures David and the girls had run off to play - this was immediately after church. Will was especially excited, as you can see! Seth was so proud of himself. He looks super complacent, like it's no big deal to handle a baby . . .

Fourth Birthday Party pics

The kids' birthday isn't until tomorrow (our time), but we celebrated a few days early on Saturday. We had a very low-key bike/trike/skateboard "rink" in our community's Teen Center. The kids had a great time! Gavin and I really enjoyed it too, as did Big Brother Isaac, as you'll see . . .

HUGE thanks to Aunt Karen Weaver for all the photos, and to Aunt Mandy and Ellie and Deb Barton for cakes/decorating!

Will with his party blow-out
Marcie on a skateboard
Friend Zaria shared her Dora car - a huge hit with a lot of the kids! (Marcie)
Daddy's turn - on the unicycle!

David requested a race car cake

Marcie wanted a Sleeping Beauty cake

Seth's favorite color is green (there was also a pink one for the girls) - creation by Ellie and Mandy
Victoria with Grace and Marcie and the girls' favorite cake by Ellie. It had little yellow birds on it!

Birthday cupcakes and finger puppets as a gift - wow! Seth is delighted and David is watching his candle intently!

Each kid had a "4" candle to blow out. (Will)

Mom and girls: I feel so rich!

Isaac and two of his bros.

He REALLY liked the cake!

Isn't he handsome? His bike is practically a permanent fixture, he rides it so much!

Thanks for coming, friends, and thanks for praying for and caring about these kiddos for over four years now, everyone!

Six kids on a couch (a successful group photo!)

At work and play

Marcie "riding" her imaginary horse. You can see her slapping the reigns.

Getting to draw blood for Gavin's yearly aviation medical certificate checkup. He has good veins, so it was great. :)
(Samantha Burns, I feel like your soul sister now!)

This is David making his "king face" on the chair he decided was a king's throne. What a funny face he thinks kings make! Will just smiles nicely while Marcie laughs at David's impression.

Our little princess Gracie on the "king's throne" (Will climbing on top of the throne behind her)

I LOVE this photo Gavin took out at Aviation! I love my six beautiful, fun, precious kiddos.

Comments? Plus fun watersliding pictures.

Hi again friends,

I know very few, if any, of you are able to post comments. I started getting some x-rated spam in our comments so shut it off to non-members. However, even members aren't able to post for some reason, and some have said they can't even become members despite following the proper steps. My apologies to you all! I loved the comments you used to post. They were such an encouragement! I'm going to try to fix the settings and just be on the look-out for nasty spam. Let me know if you see any!

Aunt Karen is always a good sport with fun ideas. Who would have thought that filling up large bowls with water from the hose could be SUCH fun!?

Gracie's wild abandonment to sheer water-play happiness!
